NARRATIVE
Today’s memory verse vividly captures what believers often experience as a result of their faith in Christ. The enemy will stop at nothing to frustrate, intimidate, and derail those who stand for God. The battle line has already been drawn. What remains is how the believer chooses to respond.
The believer is not called to retreat into fear, murmuring, or complaint. Rather, Scripture declares that “the righteous are as bold as a lion.” We are called to confront the challenges of life head‑on—through faith, courage, and total dependence on God’s grace—while allowing God to be glorified even in the midst of adversity.
Abraham stands as a powerful example of unwavering faith during the storms of life. He trusted God enough to leave his father’s house and journey into the unknown (Genesis 12:1). Even more remarkably, he trusted God enough to offer up his promised son. Romans 4:20 testifies of him:
“He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.”
Did God fail Abraham? Absolutely not—because God never fails.
Abraham continued to glorify God even when circumstances appeared hopeless. He believed so firmly in God’s power that he was convinced God could raise the dead (Romans 4:17). In the end, God did not allow Isaac to be sacrificed. The storm was a test, and Abraham passed it.
Dear reader, like Abraham, we must build our faith on Christ the Rock. Every other foundation is sinking sand. In the storms of life, hold tightly to Jesus. No matter how heavy the burden or intense the pressure, life is safer and more meaningful with Christ at the center. Jesus Himself warned us in John 15:18–20 that the world would oppose and persecute those who follow Him—but victory is assured for those who endure.
REFLECTIONS
Be encouraged today: the storm you are facing is producing a greater glory. If you remain steadfast in faith, you shall surely testify, in the name of Jesus.
